In pain

I have now given two talks in two days, at the price of completely destroying my throat. I can't talk, can't swallow, and can't do anything else useful. But at least I have nothing urgent at the top of the heap anymore.

I guess there are some benefits to being done. Now I can be miserable by myself.

Sorry for complaining so much.

Sorry for complaining so much.

Oh noes! Someone is describing something that adversely affected them on their own personal journal! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE.

Congratulations on dragging through it, and I'm glad you've got some time to recuperate.

...wow, my outrage is even better expressed when I'm Anonymous. Expect me. :D

Sometimes, complaining is *necessary*. I'd say this merits it. It's also your journal, so the decision of how to use it is up to you. Hopefully you'll start feeling better soon, now that the stress is off.

If you can't gripe on a LiveJournal, then there's no place in the world where it's safe to gripe. Cut yourself some slack, man. Also, drink garlic tea. It sounds revolting--and it is--but it works like nothing else I have ever seen. Boil five cloves in two cups of water, add honey, steep it well with the saucer on top of the cup, then hold your nose and drink tit down.

Drink as much as you can stand while your throat is sore, and you'll be doing great in no time. I like to think it's because your body gets well just so it won't have to drink that nasty crap any more.

Also, gargling with warm salt water helps a lot. Looking over this comment, I wonder why it is that only the foulest stuff works. Why can't Ben and Jerry's cure everything?
