There is nothing that I can say that can properly express the WTF factor I experienced over this picture.

Pbbt. That's not a rabbit. I recognize my own kind and I don't see any hint of stupidity behind its eyes.

Why does that worry me even more than if it was stupid?

It's a 25 lb. rabbit. I don't think you need a lens trick for that...

I make it a rule not to hunt things that can eat me, and I think that this is definitely within that category.

This is a photographer's trick to make the rabbit look bigger. It was probably taken very close with a wider-angle lens. Look at the hand of the guy holding it, and his watch. It's as big as his head. Doubtless the rabbit is large, but not THAT large.

He's not quite that large, but he is huge. He's ab out 9kg (a bit less than 25 lbs), which seems pretty damn big to me.

(On my screen, the watch face is one fourth the size of the man's head).

There are legitimate astonishingly large giant rabbits (http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/newsid_4690000/newsid_4694200/4694270.stm) but that particular picture is modified. My reaction? When they're that big, you only need one to feed a whole pack! Mmm, chasseur.

It's actually the same rabbit.

I don't think that the picture is modified, but I do think that the camera is tilted so that the head appears to be magnified. It's a lens trick, not actually a computer trick (either that, or international journalism has slipped to a new low). Regardless, the rabbit is still very large (and extraordinarily fuzzy).

Such optimism. ;)

The photographer deliberately took the picture to make the rabbit seem as large as possible, I'm sure. Even photographed normally the size is astonishing -- it looks like it eats those fashionable purse-dogs for breakfast. After I made that observation I had another look at my image search results for "giant rabbit" and found proof (http://www.giantrabbitrescue.co.uk/mediac/400_0/media/BN-Bunny7.jpg). It's enough to make one phobic, really.
