I think all particle physicists should start living in Zulu time, so we don't have this problem that whenever we need to set up a meeting, some poor sorry bastards (like us) have to drag our ass in at seven in the morning, or three in the morning, in order to make the call. It would make our lives all a lot easier.

ETA: Maybe Tokyo time would be better. Then we would piss off absolutely everybody.

This is the most democratic solution. If you're going to be unfair, it's best to be unfair to everyone. Or perhaps rotate the timing so that everyone is equally inconvenienced in a regular way? (I.e. one week to suit the Americas, one the Europeans, one the far East? That way everyone gets to deal with matters in a way convenient for their time zone some of the time.)

Considering that I live in a concrete box without windows, I don't see a point in being awake during daylight hours. Only our professors have real lives, and since they're the ones who talk during meetings anyway, they can afford to change it, right?
