Because Italy is Insane

There's currently a debate on in Italy over proper parliamentary procedure that has been referred to the procedural officials. It appears to solely concern which of the official bathrooms that MP Vladimir Luxuria, Italy's first transgender MP, should use. Since Ms. Luxuria has not actually had sexual change surgery, but dresses like a woman, she has been using the women's room for some time. However, fellow PM and former showgirl Elisabetta Gardini claims to be shocked to find Ms. Luxuria in the female side of the restroom line, and claims:

"It never entered my mind that I'd find him in there", she said. "It felt like sexual violence - I really felt ill."

Ah Italy. Bringing new levels of batshit to Europe since 1914.

Do you know this story? Churchill and the German for minister Ribbentrop were talking shortly before the outbreak of WWII. Ribbentrop said, You know, if it comes to war, Italy will be on our side this time.

If I remember my Hitler quotes correctly, he claimed that if Italy was against them, Germany would have to send seven divisions to hold the Alps against them. If Italy was with them, Germany would have to send them fourteen divisions to give them some backbone.

Boy, the Italians really haven't had a lot of luck, have they?

Given that they're the only navy that I'm aware of to put engines on the prows of their ships to enable them to run away faster, I would have to say no.
