I am back!

There is nothing quite like rolling out of a warm bed on a cold autumn Sunday morning, to find that you need to hustle your butt down to the lab and fix stuff that other people have broken. Next week I'm staying in bed.

Have returned from business trip. Wasn't that fun. Theorists are strange.

At least I got to spend some time with my family, especially my brother. This is strange, because I was probably in the running for one of the worst (but non-abusive) brothers in the world up until I was almost ready to go to college. He will protest this, of course, but my memory is better on this subject than his. It makes things interesting, our almost total lack of interaction meant that we basically became pseudo-friends when he entered Junior High. Funny how life works...isn't it?

So I got to share my video collection with him, and he showed me some of his stuff. I got to see the full Suikoden V trailer, which loks pretty neat, although if they have breathtaking new additions to the gameplay machine, they hid them pretty well. Couldn't understand a damn thing though, because I still don't speak Japanese.

Also got to watch his copy of Advent Children. I enjoyed the fighting scenes (heck, the entire movie was a fighting scene), but was slightly disapointed by the plot. I still recommend it though. It's tempting me to write that Kingdom Hearts era FFVII/FFVIII/FFX mega-crossover, which fortunately will never be written because a) it sucks, and b) there is no way I possibly have time for that.

Additionally, I got told by a female friend of mine that I should take up dating (no, she was not trying to flirt), and that I would probably be fairly successful at it because she misconstrues me as an amusing conversationalist. This further leads to my conclusion that a great deal of the female population with which I am personally acquainted is completely and totally off their rocker. On the other hand, its nice to know that someone thinks you are likely to be successful at something, if nothing else it reinforces your opinion of your ability to pull off a good bluff. In the meantime, my self-esteem is too shattered, so I'll sit in my room and do nothing. I have internet access, so who cares anyway?

Hopefully I will come up with something more profound than this to entertain you, or at least provoke a reaction, later. Maybe I'll complain about the whole Sutter case...

I know there're translated Rhapsodia (aka "Suikoden Tactics") trailers out there. And I thought I saw a translation of something GSV related on Icy Brian's forums.

I saw the Suikoden Tactics box in a GameStop yesterday while looking for Christmas presents for my brother. It didn't look quite finished yet, so I don't know if it was the final design, and it didn't have a back, but I took it to mean that the game is on its way.

I'll take a look around for the V trailer at some point. I probably shouldn't obsess about it, since all I do is leech time off my brother's game consoles when I'm home.

...or at least provoke a reaction, later.

OMG U ATTENSHUN HOR!!1!

That enough of a reaction for ya?

Is 'off their rocker' a popular phrase in the States? For some reason I can't imagine hearing it in a Yank accent.

I don't know that it's popular here, but both my parents use it.

Re, the original post: "This further leads to my conclusion that a great deal of the female population with which I am personally acquainted is completely and totally off their rocker."

I do hope you're including me there, at the very least on the basis that I'm a math major and Techer? ^_^

I always include math majors in that category. Not that there's anything wrong with that I suppose.

If it helps, I include myself in that category as well, probably for good reason.

You certainly come off as an excellent conversationalist on the internet, which of course means nothing. =)

Ask out the average-to-slightly-below-average looking girls who seem shy and aren't at all the life of the party. If one refuses you, wait and ask another.

If you're really lucky the shy violet's opposite, the blowsy loudmouth, will descend upon you and crush you in her powerful thighs. Blowsy loudmouths love shy bookish types.

Oh, you'll be traumatized, no matter what you do. That's just the way it goes. But in my experience, it's better to be traumatized by getting laid than traumatized by not getting laid.

But that's just me.

Grow some self-esteem man! :-P
One thing is for certain - the Internet makes for a lousy girlfriend...
So go out and party :) There *must* be someone around you who is not completely work-obsessed...
