One of my work associates had to take Sexual Harassment training today.

"Isn't that Sexual Harassment Awareness training?" I asked.

"No," he said, looking at the paper, "that's not what it says."

So he is now fully trained in Sexual Harassment.

Which means that either I:

A) Pay too much attention to inconsequential wordings.
or
B) Am probably going to have to demonstrate my grasp of applied violence in short order.

I sure hope they made you watch Sexual Harassment in the workplace. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8zeaYFQMJM)

If you want to learn how to harass, this seems the place to start.

Training in Sexual Harassment. I'd love to sit in that orientation session.

"You tell her, 'Hello, Julie.' Make sure you're standing a little closer than usual. Start touching her arm, then say: "I was very impressed with your presentation. So much, in fact, I'd like to go over it with you at the steakhouse, followed by a recap session at my place. Whaddya say?"

I always wanted to make that joke. Somehow, I didn't think it'd go over very well. Some folks take themselves WAY too seriously.

I had to watch that video when I got my training through the State of Nevada. But there was an even more pathetic one the county made me watch when I was substitute teaching...

Considering that 95% of our department appears to be male, a better section would probably be "Finding someone to harass".

Physicists are well known to have no sense of shame.

Seriously, how can you not laugh when they pick a name like that?

That video just inspired me to avoid human contact at work for the rest of my life. Thanks.

Well, it was kinda understood that laughing would probably get us written up...

I feel like i sent you guys the wrong link.

The one I sent was a brilliant and well-known internet satire on "sexual harassment training." It was never meant to be taken any kind of seriously. It's meant to draw you in and then make you have a nuclear LOLocaust. O_O

But but but, it's brilliant. I feel like I sent the wrong link! That's one of my favorite internet videos in existence. O_O

No, I understand the point. I couldn't understand why Spotts would have seen it in a training seminar, because it is very over the top.

In my workplace, however, it wouldn't precisely be an exaggeration. Which bothers me as much as it should bother you.

Well, the video alone doesn't bother me because I think it is a hilarious satire. The fact that there are places like that--hello, I got fired for standing up to sexual harassers?--safe to say that THAT bothers me.

The satire though, is brilliant, and I spent many a merry hour among ex-coworkers (the ones who are still my friends,) going back and forth with "It smells like fresh vagina in here" and "are you talking about MY vagina?" The video doesn't offend or bother me. It's awesome. It's all about context.
