Is this where I get to tell you life is hard? Don't you usually make that comment to me?
Though I appreciate the fact that math is very hard for some people, and that it's mostly non-useful for a great many others, not being required to do it closes off a lot of doors in terms of careers and paths in life. Besides, if we have to take the writing requirement, you guys should have to take a math requirement, right? Fair is fair. And that would force the math department to figure out a better way to teach math, because right now, the methods are mostly indecipherable.
