Don't be stupid.

The Coast Guard was searching for a man in the Pacific Ocean near the Klamath River in Del Norte County in Northern California. The man was swept away after he and two friends reportedly traveled to the shoreline to take photos of the incoming tsunami waves, Lt. Todd Vorenkamp said. His friends made it back to shore.

He's not the only one -- there was a group of four further up the coast (who were thankfully all rescued) and a few other reports too.

Evidently. The scary thing is this lack of instinct for self-preservation would also be present in a real disaster. It's people like this who make Emergency Service's lives harder, and through their foolishness put other's lives in jeopardy as well.
