That is very interesting. Thanks for posting it! Though I would argue that, supercolonies aside, anyone with an understanding of biodiversity would know that humans don't rule the planet -- insects *do*. Arguments could also be made for bacteria, and possibly polychaete worms.

True enough, but depending on one's philosophical bent that's no so much ruling the Earth, rather failing to rule over ourselves. ;)
