On my laptop, which is a 13 inch, I can fit eleven entries in the new Reader format on the screen. This takes up about two thirds of the entire screen.
I think on mine (Chrome 15.0.874 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard) the text size has stayed about the same, but they've essentially double-spaced the lines. The text size for my "Subscriptions" menu on the left-hand side is definitely different, because all my folders no longer fit on the screen. It looks like I have one that was optimized for a 22-24 inch screen, except that it should know from the resolution that it's on a laptop.
It looks like not only have they made it bad though, they've made it bad for everyone in different ways...
