This is suburban Illinois. If I walk long enough, I can wander around a strip mall. If I really go far, I can get to the other end of the strip mall, which is not only in a different area code, it's probably in a different time zone.

Five years is a long time for someone who likes to travel, although I doubt your job has that much vacation time that you can spend at your leisure (or that you have the leisure to spend).
