Out of all of this, I can conclusively say that whacking camels is not a bad idea. Killing them is good for the environment (if expensive, but not as bad as feral cats), and unlike the cats, camel is also acceptable on the dinner plate. China and North Korea scare me. I periodically catch up with news about the region, cringe, and go back to thinking of something else. Thanks for the update -- I rarely remember to take enough time to look properly for good news these days, which is something I regret.
