Just an idea that popped in my head not long ago. I didn't have anything better to do with it, so I wrote it down here. I don't know if I'll do anything with it (I doubt it), but would anyone bother reading a novel that started like this?

I've realized that I should do something imaginative with this LJ at some point, so I've decided to add a new feature. Just for your amusement (if you're really bored) I think I'm going to put some of my False Starts down on this LJ.

A False Start is what I call it when a few lines enter my head and form the genesis of a new story. They are snappy, attention-getting, and the kind of lines that you want to lead readers into your story. Unfortunately, they have nothing behind them, no actual story. You don't know what it's about, or where it's going, or even why somebody should care, only that there's an opening that someone might find intriguing. They are interesting enough that I don't want to throw them away, but not enough that I go and look for the story hidden behind them.

So, for want of anything better to do, I'm putting them up here.
